All Things Outside

The Best Front Porch Furniture with Built-in Cushions

Our porches are in full use.  And I can’t tell you how happy that makes me.  The weather has been excellent here in Ohio for outdoor living.  I briefly mentioned before that normally, we don’t plant annuals and hang ferns until Mother’s Day.  But the two week forecast was so good that our flowers have been planted now for two weeks.  And, the ferns have been hanging on the porch for that long as well.  We recently got the best front porch furniture and I am so impressed with it that I wanted to share.  And hopefully give you ideas to decorate your own porches for all of the outdoor living.

The Best Front Porch Furniture with Built-in Cushions

We have a long front porch.  It is 10′ deep and 40′ wide, with the door directly in the middle.   Last year, we had all mismatched furniture, which I loved.  But I wanted something different this year. This year I wanted to have each side match with the same furniture.  I also had this vision to make each side of the porch look like a family room, which would include a couch and a chair. So the search was on.

All of my online searches for couches were gray, or had some sort of gray cushions on them.  If you have been around for any length of time, I can’t do gray.  I love seeing it in other people’s homes, but color affects me in different ways.  Ohio is a cloudy state during the winter and the winters are actually gray.  They do a number on me mentally so when I am surrounded by any type of gray, I feel worse.  I know several people have said they know what I’m talking about so I am not making it up.  Ha!  Anyway, I wanted to stick with my favorite woods and whites tones.

In one of my searches, I stumbled upon a gray set of furniture with built-in cushions. I absolutely LOVED that concept.  Last year, we washed the cushion covers on our furniture several times and I never feel like they fit the same. We even let them air dry and it still seems like they don’t fit.  The wind would blow leaves on the lighter colored cushions and stain them.  We jut got tired of it.  So the idea of having the cushion built right in thrilled me. However, they were gray.

I did a little more digging and these popped up.

This set was in a color that would match my decor and make my little heart happy.  Ha!  I bought a couch and a chair for each side.  I also want to acknowledge that I do know they are pricey.  But, I plan on having these for several years to come.  The quality is excellent and the reviews are fantastic.  Again, there are no cushions to take care of or replace.  Deb has taken two naps on them already so I know they are really comfortable.  That was one of her main concerns.

I created two different seating areas on our long porch that look like a family room setting and it sure does feel cozy.  I will be sharing more about this space and closeups of the other items this week, but I wanted to share the furniture today.

If you want to see our porches in years past, I have them all rounded up for you HERE.

  • These are beautiful! I’m sure they are way out of my budget, but I love how they look. And you don’t need cushions. Great job!

    • They were definitely on the pricey end but I can appreciate the price now that I have experienced the comfort and quality. I was nervous, though, until they arrived and I actually saw them.

  • What is the brand of the new furniture? It's SO lovely and of course your accents make it all the better. Lovely spot to entertain and relax!!

  • Love love love your porch.!!
I spend a lot of time on our back porch but am looking for ideas on how to keep it clean. Cobwebs seem to come out of nowhere overnight and leaves are constantly and nuisance.

  • The furniture is perfect fit your porch. Glad yiu are happy with you choices.

On an earlier blog about the new furniture you share a picture of an arbor. I deleted that blog post before saving the picture. Can you tell me where I can find the picture?

    Thank you.

    • It actually went out in our newsletter, so if you check out past emails you will find it there. I was going to attach it here for you, but it won't let me.

  • I’m right there with you on the color gray! For me it is so gloomy and depressing! I’m in the process of painting my gray living room white!! So much better!!

    • Oh, you will love your space so much more! It just feel brighter and more refreshing. I am so glad we made the switch, because believe it or not there was a time when white wasn't our go-to wall color.
