127 Garage Sale Antique Finds

For those of you who have been watching stories over on Instagram, you saw us make our way through Ohio during the Highway 127 Longest Yard Sales.  We have gone several times throughout the years.  And, always find such great antique treasures. Going into this, I was a little concerned at what it would be like because of Covid.  But it sure didn’t disappoint. Today we’re sharing our tips for antique shopping!

Most people had all of their items set up outside in tents.  We kept social distancing in mind when walking around outside and everyone was quite aware of their surroundings.  You really didn’t see people hanging out.

Jump out of the car.

Jump back in the car.

Use hand sanitizer.

Repeat.

OK.. onto the treasures.

127 Garage Sale Antique Finds

Antique Picture and Picture Frames

I pick up antique frames when I see them for a great price.  These three were all great prices.  The one with the picture was $25.  The larger gold one was $5 and the smaller gold one was $2.  You can’t beat that.  I need to buy glass but that is very inexpensive.

Vintage Basket

Vintage baskets are something I keep my eyes peeled for.  They come in so handy.  I will end up displaying them on top of cabinets for added texture when not in use.   This gorgeous basket was only $5.

Antique Mantel Clock

I have a thing for old mantel clocks, especially when they have the original patina.  This black one was marked $10.  The guy saw me looking at it and he said he would take $5.  SOLD.

Antique Wood Crate for Glass Carboy or Demijohn

I have a few glass carboys in my stash that I have picked up throughout the years and have always wanted to find one with a crate.  Well, I found this crate, and I’m pretty sure that’s what it was for.  It was $10.

Old Crocks and Pitcher

I have a thing for old crocks and old pottery.  You probably already know that by now.  So, I always pick them up when I see them for great prices.  The pitcher is perfect for display in hutches and to use for flowers.  I paid $2 for that.  And the old crocks were $7 each.

Sewing Machine Drawer

This sewing machine drawer was something I spotted when I was looking at an old light… that we didn’t get.  The guy saw me looking and said he would make me a great deal on it.  It was $6.  I have no clue what I will do with it, but they are perfect to display and also to use.  It would be perfect for keeping pencils and scrap paper on a desk, etc.

Antique Planter Box

I saw this old metal lined flower box and LOVED it.  It was marked $12 and he sold it to me for $10.  It will look perfect on our porch at the new house.

Primitive Table

I cannot even handle this little primitive table.  It has the original finish and was only $25.  I am getting into primitive pieces and loving them for their simplicity.  I have been adding primitive pieces here and there… and love to find new pieces.  We added a primitive hutch to the kitchen here at the rental and one in the dining room.  And, I love both of them.

We got a few more pieces that we took to storage already.   Which includes an antique door with gorgeous details that we will use in our new house, an antique fireplace front that is either concrete or marble, and three large old columns.  We will put all three of those to good use.  I will for sure share when I style these pieces so you can see how I use them within my decor.

It was so fun to get away this past weekend and do something that makes us happy.  We used to go to flea markets and garage sales ALL OF THE TIME.  This made us have a little bit of normalcy in our lives.  I hope you enjoyed seeing all of our antiques that we found during the 127 garage sales.  I am looking so forward to going again next year.
