Tips for Transitioning Your Wardrobe for Fall

THIS POST IS SPONSORED BY KOHL’S AND COLLECTIVE VOICE.

You have probably noticed that we are in full Fall mode! When I think of this upcoming season, my mind concocts an image of sitting on the porch swing in the crisp evening air with a cozy knit sweater and a chunky throw blanket while surrounded by amber-colored leaves and the steam that is rolling off my cup of hot tea!

I love summer, but I also can’t wait for Fall, and thanks to Kohl’s we are ready for the weather change and the fashion changes that come along with it.

I picked up a bunch of new pieces for my Fall wardrobe, and thanks to Kohl’s, easy online shopping experience we didn’t even have to make a trip to the store.  Ha. Deb cringes when she thinks about in-store shopping and trying on clothes.

Tips for Transitioning Your Wardrobe for Fall

Trend 1: Layering

One of the great Fall fashion trends for 2023 is layering. I am so glad this fashion trend is sticking around because it makes dressing for Fall so much easier. Sometimes, it’s hot and sometimes it’s cold, so adding and removing layers is a must. It’s just an added bonus that this look is trending this year!

One of the first items I found when perusing Kohl’s online selection was this Junior’s SO Waffle Cable Pull Over Sweater. The cable detailing is what drew me to this sweater because it provides a beautiful contrast to the waffle weave texture. But just imagine throwing this over your favorite t-shirt on a cool afternoon when you are hitting the antique shops and stopping at your favorite coffee shop for a special treat!

Trend 2: Zip-Up and Open-Front Sweaters

Zip-up and open-front shirts are great for Fall because, again, the temperature is always changing, and these allow for extra ventilation. If I get a hot flash, I can quickly shed the layer and put it back on when needed. Major added bonus! So, I was super pumped when I found this Junior’s SO Open Front Cardigan. It is a thick, quality material, but is also light and airy which really broadens what it can be worn with. The open front means you can pair this with a dress to extend your summer dresses into Fall, or because it is a little longer, you could pair it with your favorite leggings. I, personally, will wear this with my favorite pair of jean shorts until the weather gets too cool.

Trend 3: Romance Pieces

Okay, I’m not going to lie. This Fall trend threw me for a bit of a loop, but romance pieces are in for Fall. That means lace, ruffles, sheer, and even the floral prints that are usually saved for Summer. I snagged this Women’s LC Lauren Conrad Tie-Front Peasant Top, and I think it perfectly fits the romance vibe for Fall. It is sheer and adds a slight floral print in combination with a peasant in flight. I love the flowy fit and the tie-front closure. I also have the jean one, as well.

Shop the Friends and Family Event

If you are starting to wonder if your entire Fall wardrobe is outdated, don’t worry. Kohl’s Friends and Family event is underway which makes it a great time to stock up! You will also receive free shipping on orders over $49! You can get a lot without feeling like you went overboard.

Trend 4: Back-To-The-Classics Shoes

Shoe trends for Fall 2023 are shoes that are classic and simple.  Have you noticed that people are wearing sneakers with everything?

For Deb and I, we love the idea of classic and timeless, but we also focus on comfort when shopping for shoes. Comfort is a must! I LOVE these New Balance 515 V3 Classics Women’s Shoes. As their name suggests, these shoes give a classic look. They aren’t loud and have muted color choices. They go great with shorts and pants which makes them a perfect choice for this time of year.

Trend 5: Everyday Wear

Deb is excited about this one! A Fall 2023 Fashion trend is simple, everyday wear! That means a basic white cotton t-shirt, a pair of sweatpants, and your favorite hoodie. I’m not even kidding. Leisurewear is in. Deb is officially trendy!!

I know a lot of you are going to be excited about this find. Kohl’s has a Disney’s Hocus Pocus “I Put a Spell on You” sweatshirt. And don’t hate me, I have never seen the movie. I’m cringing in embarrassment ever so slightly because I know Hocus Pocus is a Fall staple! Please tell me I’m not the only one who hasn’t seen this movie. Either way, I love the cowl neck and think it dresses up this sweatshirt so much. This sweatshirt and black cargo pants are so comfy.

Trend 6: Cargo Pants

They are back! Cargo pants were majorly trending in the mid to late-1990s and then relatively disappeared. Well, they are back for Fall 2023. Check out these Juniors Unionbay Stretch Soft Sateen Cargo Jogger Pants. They come in a few different colors and since they are juniors, I would order up a size.

I feel like these pants hit the everyday-wear trend also, because they are so versatile. I can dress these up with my cute sweaters, and Deb can wear them with her casual t-shirts.

I rounded up everything in this post to make it easier for you.  Click the pics below for the links.
