Travel Necessities

I recently asked over on Instagram what YOUR travel necessities are.  It will be a long non-stop flight to Mexico in less than two weeks so I wanted some good recommendations.  I never thought of several of these items.  Aside from a book or magazine, I had lots of reminders to take several $1 and $5 bills for tips throughout our trip.  AND diarrhea meds.  Because several of you have poopied your panties.  ????  Therefore, maybe take a spare pair of skivvies…..  that will be good to add to the list, too.

Travel Necessities

1/   Travel Fan – Why the hell haven’t I thought about this before now.  This is the perfect size and is cute yet to boot.

2/  Travel Pillow – I always say I am going to get one of these but never have.  I just suffer through flights.  LOL

3/  Noise Masking Sleep Buds – Need I say more?

4/  Luggage Scale – There were tons of recommendations for this item.  You all said it’s perfect for the way home in case you purchase anything.

5/  Portable Steamer – Lots of recommendations for this, too.

6/ Portable Collapsible Water Bottle – Perfect for everything from traveling, to the gym, etc.

7/ Collapsible Tripod – This one has a remote if you want to take a romantic photo of you and your spouse with a scenic background.  I’m laughing because that never happens here.  We normally come home with about 3 pictures total because we laid by the pool drinking the entire time.  ????

8/  Phone Battery Charger – This is the one I have and LOVE it.  It charges my phone four times before it needs charged again.  I carry it in my purse ALWAYS.

9/ Weekender Bag – I LOVE this bag.  It is on my Wish List.  It is perfect for your flight to carry your extra set of clothing and there is a shoe compartment in the bottom.

10/  Vacation Bag – This is a perfect weekender bag for the sporty people… aka Deb.

11/  Purse/Bag Organizer – Perfect for organizing your bags and purses so things don’t get all jumbled.  They come in several sizes.

12/  Tote – I just got this in the mail and love it.  It looks like a designer bag.  This is big enough to pack some essentials AND my small purse.

13/  Sanitary Wipes – I truly never thought of this.  LOL . I have hand sanitizer but nothing for the nasty hotel remote, etc.  ????  This bag has all individually wrapped packages so you can throw them in your beach bag, too.

14/  Passport Cover – This isn’t a must, but it’s a fun thing.  ????

15/ Wrinkle Release Spray – Lots of recommendations for a wrinkle release spray.

16/ Portable Lint Roller – This is small enough to tuck into your bag.

17/ Black Noise Earplugs – Need I say more.  ????

  • Steer clear of the ice in your drinks or you and Deb will be playing dueling toilets! Also be careful of the fruit. We stayed on the toilet during an 8 day stay and we’d drag ourselves to the beach and get drunk when there was nothing else left on our insides hahaha! We ate the fruit and had ice in our drinks so they had to be the culprit. Better off sticking to beer like we finally wised up and did. Take plenty of diarrhea meds!!!!!!!!!!????????????

  • Oranges, pineapple, - fruits with a cover to peel should be ok. I wouldn’t try salads though

  • I was in Ireland when there was some water problem county wide we were a group of 30 high school Sr’s they stressed to use straws no lettuce fruits you can peel was ok no fish that was cooked in water etc..amazingly the kids that took the coach seriously stayed healthy ( mostly the girls) they guys ( some removed from our hotel on stretchers ( this was serious shit ( no pun intended)) . This just a warning as to better safe than sorry..

    • Oh my gosh... I never thought about food cooked in their water. ???? I will for sure be watching that.
