Backyard Reveal

This is going to be a quick post with few words and lots of pictures, because I wrote a rather lengthy post yesterday on our gardening method, which I believe is the best evahhh.  And, I’ve already explained our previous backyard issues last week but I left you hanging without the AFTER pictures.  I wanted to show you what our back yard looks like after we got our hands on it.

Remember, we made the choice of repurposing all of this concrete rather than paying someone $1.5 million to haul it away.  If you missed the equipment we used to handle the big pieces, you will have to read about it here and then you will understand just how “cuckoo” we are.

And I absolutely have not one BEFORE picture of our backyard.  I can’t believe that, as I usually go picture happy.  Just know, there was NOTHING here, but the tree beside Deb’s little backyard workshop.

Well, here is what our backyard looks like since we got our hands on it!

We wanted to create a little “sanctuary” in the backyard where we can escape from traffic and people.  We planted a whole row of large shrubs that eventually will grow fairly large and make it feel like a green wooded lot.  We still have lots of work to do on that janky patio area, but we sure have accomplished a lot, thus far.

We used the large pieces of concrete as “steps” in front of the doors on each of our little buildings.

We used lots of the smaller pieces to line our flower and vegetable gardens here on my fake little homestead.

And the rest were used as stepping-stones in our paths.  This one happens to lead to Deb’s little workshop where all of her creativity happens.

We worked so darn hard to repurpose this concrete and, trust me, these two old ladies felt it.   Let me know in the comments what you think.  I would love to hear from you!

And, thanks so much for stopping by.  I usually post a few extra pictures on Facebook and Instagram, so you may want to check them out.

And…….BUH BYE NOW – Said in a loud, high-pitched old lady’s voice, because how else could you say BUH BYE NOW.
