Fall Look on Antique Wardrobe

Do you guys remember when we spent two solid days shopping at the Springfield, Ohio, Extravaganza flea market?  Oh my gosh… I’m sure I have mentioned a few times that we had THE MOST fun ever.  We brought home so many fall decor goodies.  One of those things was an antique wall telephone box without any of the working mechanisms. The box was so cool that I couldn’t pass it up.  I believe it was maybe $12…  ????  We gave the little antique telephone box a makeover that took literally 10 minutes.  And, gave it new life.

Springfield Extravaganza is where we found our Parker cabinet.  Lots of you over on Instagram fell immediately in love with that cabinet the moment we did.  And, I showed that moment on stories.  ????  We knew it was fresh-picked from a barn… but didn’t realize it actually had turds and chicken feathers inside.  ????   So, what I’m saying is, it smelled exactly like a barn.  ????  I always give furniture a quick sniff test before I buy it, and I just knew we could get the smell out of this one.  And, we did!

I shared everything we found…. EXCEPT for two pieces.  I believe I talked about them in the post but didn’t show you them, until today.  I wanted to get them within my decor and style.  So today, one of those pieces is placed in the living room and styled for Fall.

Fall Look on Antique Wardrobe

One of the pieces you have never seen is this antique wardrobe. It’s tiny!  We were driving around the fairgrounds at the end of the day, on the last day, of the show.  And I spotted this wardrobe as we drove by one of the booths.  It is only 12″ deep.  It was originally marked $250.  That price was crossed out and re-priced at $200.  We really didn’t need it, but it’s so small, so I could already think of LOTS of ways to use this piece.  As we were discussing whether it would be purchased, the owner made us an offer we couldn’t refuse.  I think Deb’s words were, “Way to go… now we have to take it.”

I love to decorate the tops of cabinets like this.  So, I thought this ceramic pumpkin that I picked up at our local Kroger looked cute on top.  I fell in love with these pumpkins immediately but didn’t buy any.  Four days later, I drove by again just to see if they were there.  Obviously they were.  I have used them within my decor a lot this year.  And simply added a luminary candle inside.  I highlighted him with a green stained glass window.  Of course, I draped a Fall stem around him.  That immediately makes it look Fall-y.  ????

What will we use this petite wardrobe for?

Deb will more than likely add shelves to this little piece.  It could be used to linen storage and even a great piece for The Woods and Ivy Cottage bathroom… for towels.  Also…. Deb is a spice girl.  We have a huge spice cabinet, but this could be used for the other cooking things.. vinegars, oils, etc, in the kitchen.

I love this little cabinet and can think of a million other ways to use it.

  • Hi! Great post! I hope I haven't missed it, but I can't wait to see what you guys do with the stacked sewing machine drawers. I have some just like them, and need ideas of how to use them or maybe enclose them. They are open on the top of the drawer supports. Thanks for any ideas! Donna
