Fall Decor Ideas Round Up

I love fall.  It’s my favorite time of year.  Therefore, I like to start a little earlier than most in the decor department.  Normally I ease into it with a few neutral pumpkins, etc.   I do, however, start getting anxious during this time because you know what season is next.  Winter is my least favorite because we love to be outside.  Being outside in Ohio in the winter is MOST OF THE TIME impossible.  It’s WAY too cold.

Anyway… I shared over on Instagram stories yesterday that my daughter is due with her first baby November 5.  I don’t know if it’s kosher or not, but I told her I would be happy to have the shower here at the cottage.  She lives two hours away and has been gone from this area for YEARS.  It only made the most sense for us to do it this way.  Since she is due around Halloween, she wants a Halloween theme baby shower since it’s her favorite time of year, too. So, I spend the entire weekend brainstorming and looking on Pinterest for ideas of decor for the shower at the end of September.

I plan on decorating the cottage from front to back in fall decor.  And adding a little baby area specifically for the shower.  So stay tuned for that.  I ended up seeing some of my own Fall decor pop up on Pinterest while I was looking and thought I would round it all up for you on one post.  Maybe you can get some inspiration for your own Fall decor.

Fall Decor Ideas Round Up

I shared last year how I decorated a side table with fall items amongst my collections.  It was one of my favorite looks.

I created a simple side table with a chalkboard and simple pumpkins. This took five minutes so it’s doable for everyone who wants to keep things simple.

I love to decorate the tops of my antique cabinets, which is exactly what I did in this post.  Throw a pumpkin, stained glass window, and large lamp and you have a simple little fall look.

Do you like rustic decor?  I created a coffee table last year using a few items we found from the woods.  Check it out.

Fun Fall DIY Projects

When I was pulling the links to my fall posts, I realized we did several fall DIY projects last year.  We were so bored in the rental.  ????  So we had to be creative with our projects.  Rather than working on the house and yard, we created some fun things.  These are so simple and easy to do with kids or grandkids.

We made these concrete pumpkins and I think they turned out adorable.

We made this cute wooden jack-o-lantern last year out of scrap wood.  I love how this turned out.

We made this antique looking Fall sign, too.  I actually just saw that in storage so I need to grab that the next time we go.  It will be perfect here in the cottage.

Fall Around the Woods

I decorated around the fire pit last year for fall. I thought it cozied it all up.  I’m excited to do that again this year.

And, I didn’t dedicate an entire post to fall by the garage we hauled in last year, but the pics are all fall related.  You can see what we did when we landscaped.  It is a very simple look by adding just pumpkins here and there.

I hope this gave you some inspiration for your own upcoming fall decor.  I know some of you are thinking, DON’T RUSH IT.  And I certainly am not, but with the baby shower coming, I am in full planning mode.  Stay tuned for lots of different ideas when I decorate the cottage.

  • Love all your ideas! Love everything about fall except the extra yard work as we prepare to hunker down for winter. You are going to have so much fun this year with fall! I bet you come up with some wonderful new fall decor ideas especially, with adding a baby shower into it! Can’t wait to see it all.
And regarding all the haters... YOU. DO. YOU!!!
