Five Ways to Use a Pedestal Tray in Your Kitchen

I recently purchased a cute little pedestal tray from Walmart.  It happened to be one of those ads on Facebook that sucked me in again… just like that gorgeous pillow.  Remember when I bought that from a Facebook ad?  ???? Anyways, this pedestal actually has a metal base and a wooden top, and happens to be a very nice height.  I use them so much in my decor for so many different things.  And I have had several questions over on Instagram asking how I was going to use mine.  I thought it would be perfect to show you guys a few different ways that I personally use pedestals in my decor.

I was going to show you different ways I use them in my entire house, but I came up with five different ways to use my pedestal in my kitchen, soooooo I stuck with that room.  You may start getting real bored if I shared 150 ways to use a pedestal….  and we don’t want that.  ????

Five Ways to Use a Pedestal Tray in Your Kitchen

By the sink.

First off….any type of tray or pedestal brings a little group of things together.  My motto is that everything looks better on a tray or pedestal.  The reason I bought this little pedestal tray in the first place is to do just this.  I wanted to set it beside my kitchen sink and keep “sink stuff” organized and looking all fancy.

First off, I bought my glass amber soap dispenser last year and love it.  This holds our dish soap.  It makes something very ordinary, like dish soap, look very pretty.   I added a little flower pot with a bar of natural hand soap and  my wooden handled pot scrubber to the mix.  Because they also are ordinary items we use every day, but remember… everything looks better on a tray.  And, then of course, I had to display an artificial fern, too.  Just to give it some life.  I think it looks so cute with all of these items grouped together.  (Link to site I found my sheep picture.)

On a coffee bar.

You need height in every area of decor.  These pedestals look so cute stacked with coffee mugs or coffee items on a coffee bar.  I don’t happen to have a coffee bar (little kitchen problems) but you can get the picture with mine setting on my kitchen island.  Group together a cute coffee canister, a few ironstone pitchers holding spoons and sweetener packets.  I LOVE this look.

As a centerpiece.

This is another one of my favorite ways to use a pedestal in my decor.  I’ve done this over the years at my past homes.  Get yourself a favorite flameless candle, mine happen to be by Luminara, and decorate it with a wreath.  These look so pretty in the middle of a farmhouse table or at the end of an island like I have it.  It’s a quick centerpiece idea that can be changed out with seasonal wreaths, also.

To hold a collection.

In this case, it’s holding my canister set, but a pedestal looks cute holding a collection of ironstone pitchers or a stack of ironstone plates to get height.  I have Ivy’s treats in the FLOUR canister and don’t you worry, she knows where they are.  ????

To use for a party.

You can actually USE a pedestal to create a cute dessert display at a party… which we never have.  ????  BUT…we could.  ???? How cute does this look holding dessert plates?  Throw an ironstone pitcher full of flatware and display it by the cake.  Or in this case, my fake cake… which I still love, by the way.

I hope this gave you several ideas to display a pedestal in your own decor.  Let me know what you think either here or over on Instagram.  And if you like this type of post… I love taking one item and showing several different ways to use it.
