High Protein Snack Idea

I shared this high protein snack idea over on social media stories a few days back so I wanted to share it here.  It needs a permanent spot because it is so dang good.  I saw it on TikTok, I believe.  And, knew I had to try it.  First off, I love peppers and I love cottage cheese.  Secondly, I am always looking out for ways to get more protein in our diets.  I used to think eating a lot of protein and feeling full longer was just a myth.  But, if you really pay attention to how your body feels, it’s true.  I can go way longer between meals or snacks if I eat more protein.

If you are like me and always looking for different higher protein snack options, you need to try this.  We have been eating this as a side dish to our eggs in the morning too.  It all pairs well together.

High Protein Snack Idea

If you haven’t noticed, I have several recipes on our website.  Check them out if you are bored of the same old things.  We go through eating the same things so I’m always up for some different ideas here in our home.  I acually feel ridiculous calling this a “recipe” because it really isn’t.  But, like I said above, it needs a spot here on the website so that we don’t forget about it.

Ingredients:

Peppers of your choice – We love the yellow, orange, and red because they are mild.  But, this would even be great in jalapenos.

Cottage Cheese – We choose the brand with the highest protein

Feta Cheese

Everything But the Bagel Sesame Seasoning Blend

Everything But the Elote Seasoning Blend

Plain and simple, you cut the peppers in quarter and remove the seeds.  Add a tablespoon or 2 of cottage cheese to each quarter.  Sprinkle some feta cheese on top.  And then add both seasonings to it.  The more seasoning the better.

Since we tried this for the first time the other day, we have eaten it EVERY SINGLE DAY.  We have eaten them for snacks and side dishes both.  In fact, while I was typing this post, I asked Deb if we had any more peppers because I want them for breakfast this morning with eggs.

YUMMY!  Let me know if you try these.  They are so simple, so nutritious, and so good.
