Can you believe it’s already that time of year again?! Summer break is over and all the kiddos are heading back to school! Parents are picking up those packs of 24 crayons, rounded scissors, and brightly-colored folders. The young adults are packing their mini fridges, shower caddies, and twin-sized sheets for their dorm room to head back to college.
All of our kids are past their school days, but now they are getting ready to send their kids, our grandkids, back to school. This year, two more of our grandkids, Ollie and Jack, are heading off to preschool, and I seriously can’t believe the supply list just for a preschooler! There is an entire page of things they need to bring.
We had so many people ask for deals on dorm and school essentials for Amazon Prime Day which was a great reminder for me that a lot of you aren’t old and feeble like us, and you are getting ready to send kids off to school soon. So, we have been working on a list of a bunch of great back-to-school items for you, and in the process put together some great accounts from Instagram and Pinterest for inspiration for those of you who have a school space in your own home. This is also great inspiration for those of us who are looking to spruce up an office or organizational space in our home.
Laura with Refunkedjunque homeschools all three of her boys, and I love her homeschooling space with its mixture of textures and earthy tones! But, she also has a beautiful home in general as well as a beautiful outlook on life. Laura also seems super handy, because at one point that light fixture pictured was black! This is one of those accounts that you just have to keep following after seeing it.
This classroom drew me in because of all of the wonderful storage and organization that Samantha has in place! I love that not only does she have a bunch of bins, but she has different styles of bins that change at different height levels of the room and for different storage purposes. You probably also guessed that I love the neutral colors in this room, too. Yes, I know, I am too predictable sometimes.
Andrea from Pine and Prospect Home shows us her non-traditional homeschooling room, which happens to be her dining room! I love that she uses beautiful furniture pieces that are part of her everyday decor for the storage and organization of her homeschooling supplies. This really goes to show that learning can happen in any space; learning doesn’t have to look like the stereotypical classroom with a chalkboard and bright colors plastered all over the walls.
The Simple Farmhouse spent less than $100 to convert her eat-in-kitchen space into a classroom. Yes, we have a chalkboard, and it is oh-so-cute! This happy mom commented that she finds her kids using this beautiful space even after the school day is done, and I can see why!
Inspire the Mom offers over 20 ways to add functional decor to your home to transform it into a true homeschooling space. I must say, the curtain rod and curtain rings for holding documents and pictures is genius!
