I am pulling all of my spring home decor from hiding.  Truly… Spring is such a happy time for me.  Anybody else?  It feels like new beginnings.  We are finally able to see the light after long, dark winters here in Ohio.  Everything starts to get green again.  The woods will be filling out making it impossible to see us from all four sides.  ????  It’s the best.  I feel like a weight has lifted off of me the start of spring.  Like there is hope.

I recently created this little spring grouping on our dining table.  And I think it turned out pretty.  And it gives me hope.  (Not a fan of winter)

Neutral Spring Decor Dining Room

Of course, I started with the tray Deb made.  I love to start with a base of some sort when I am grouping several small things together.  It brings them all together as one and reduces the clutter factor.  Some of the things I have used for a base are wooden or metal trays, large ironstone platters, cutting boards, baskets, charger plates for smaller areas, wooden barrel tops, etc.

I then added one of my hand towels that I got from The Loomia.  They have THE PRETTIEST towels, blankets, etc.  I like to use them as runners.  A basket that I grabbed from TJMaxx several years ago makes a perfect holder for my apple blossom stems.  These are from Walmart years ago and I don’t think they carry them anymore.  I did find a great alternative that I used on the mantel.  They are smaller but really pretty.

Tip:  Add regularly used items within home decor!

I am a huge fan of adding regularly used items into my home decor, like these dishes.  If they are out in plain site, we use them more.  These are some of my favorite dishes.  The quality is excellent and they have different styles if polka dots aren’t your thing.  I think they are neutral enough to go with my neutral home decor.  I added this wooden salt box and the pepper grinder to the tray.  They are obviously used at every meal and they look pretty.  

Of course, candles are a must when decorating a table.  I pulled out the black metal ones I had in my stash.  They are some of my favorites because of the size.  They are skinny and simple enough to use on our fireplace mantel and in a tablescape as well.  And this time, I used my flameless tapers which are A MUST in my book.  They have a remote that will allow you to set them for 2-4-6-8 hours, as a flicker flame, and a few other options.  They look realistic and are really pretty at night.
