New Look in the Dining Room

Well we did it.  Yesterday we tackled moving the big ass pieces of furniture around in our dining room.  Some of the cabinets are HUGE.  Not to mention, they are filled with some of the 1.5 million dishes that I collect. ????  But, if you are new here, you need to read the post on the dining room when we bought the house.  And, then, go ahead and catch the original dining room reveal.  Cut to present day.

I swear, the after Christmas funk is real.  The energy is at an all time low, peeps.    I’ve wanted to spruce up the dining room for quite some time now, but had no energy to do it.  I mentioned it to the wifey, and she said, “Let’s just get it done.”  If you follow me over on Instagram, you already know this.  But, she “fake charges” me for everything.  I think my tab was up to $48.  She charged me $20 for modifying my old camera tripod to fit my cell phone and $20 for working on our new coffee table, which I haven’t shown you yet.  She charged me $5 to view the weather app on her phone and for a few other things.

I earned a credit when she asked me to trim her hair to get rid of a mullet, which was another story on Instagram. ???? So basically, she told me yesterday she would help for free but today, there would be a charge.  So, I jumped on that chance.  ????

New Look in the Dining Room

I threw a smaller cabinet on top of that big beast (the buffet) and kind of like it……… for now.  And moved my big calf picture from the stairway landing down into the dining room.

And as you can see, we literally flip-flopped the two huge cabinets, and we moved around a few smalls.  The big buffet (the big beast)  only fits one place in this house.  And you’re looking at it.  Come to think of it, it may fit on our long master bedroom wall.  ????  But it would take 16 people to get it upstairs, so that won’t be happening any time soon.  There would sure to be more than a $20 charge for that stunt.  ????

The chippy green cabinet got moved all the way across the room.

I left this section as it was… displaying my little ironstone butter pats in my shelf.

Thank you so much for stopping by the blog and reading my posts.  I truly cannot tell you how much I appreciate it…. from deep down in the bottom of my heart (you know…that little point – ❤)    I pledge my love to each and every one of you!

Buh bye, now, said in an old lady’s voice who finally feels like she is digging her way out of the after-Christmas-funk.    Can I get a hallelujah!

  • Gorgeous, as always. I'm always inspired by your posts. Now stop moving things around all the time. You're making me do it ????????????

    • ???? hahaha thank you. I do the same. When I see people moving their rooms around, I think that means it's my turn.

    • Aww thank you. We used to live in a tiny house of no more than 600 sq foot. You should have seen how pooped up it was. ????

  • Love all the changes. I drive my husband nuts moving furniture around, but the room gets thoroughly cleaned and has fresh new look with minimal ????. Love your style.

    • hahaha I hear ya. That's one way to get it all deep cleaned. ???? Cleaning isn't my favorite thing to do. And thanks so much!

  • I absolutely love your cow pictures, being an old (literally) farm girl. Is there a particular place that handles them? Love all your posts, read them all, save quite a few as well. Please tell Deb Tracy was in our thoughts and prayers after the horror at Westerville....

    • Oh yes...that was awful. I will pass that along. And, yes. I will see if I can figure out a way to share. Are you on facebook?
