Part of the Master Bedroom Reveal

‘Tis the SEASON!

First off, you have to know that Deb’s favorite bird in the entire world is the hummingbird.  To those of you that know her, this shouldn’t come as a surprise.  She is in constant motion with projects and is always willing to work.  She says if she could come back to this life as an animal, she would be a bird.  She would DEFINITELY be a hummingbird.

Do you know hummingbirds are very active in town?  I didn’t realize this, either.  We lived in the country for a few years and absolutely loved to watch them take over our feeders, as they are very territorial.  Last year on a whim, we decided to hang our feeders here in town at our new House on Winchester. They came!

We have a few feeders similar to these on Amazon and the hummingbirds love them.

Did you know?

Hummingbirds migrate south each Fall and return to the same location in the Spring.   We have been anxiously awaiting our first hummingbird this Spring and they have finally returned to our feeders this morning.  Yay!    ‘Tis the season….they have arrived.

If you are interested in watching these hyper little creatures fluttering around your yard, run out and get yourself a feeder soon.

Also… since we are so excited about our hummingbird’s arrival, Deb mentioned she missed our blue birds.

I will keep you posted, but we are going to maybe make some type of “worm farm” to attract these beauties and, also, supply our little ladies with worms.

Seriously….  stop laughing.  I’m so excited to add a little worm farm to our little fake homestead.   I know you will be waiting with bated breath for our progress on our “worm farm.”

Very Sad (MAD) Back to Eden Update

Also, remember the other day I gave you an update on our Back to Eden Garden along with that gorgeous porch makeover?

Well, even though we spent the extra time and energy to cover and protect all of our little babies on Sunday night, they still burnt from the frost.  (Insert mad face – ????)

This has never happened considering the fact we had them covered.   I keep telling myself that things could be worse.  They could have been ruined half way through the season with no potential of harvest.

My frown was quickly turned upside down while running errands today, with one of them being to pick up new plants.  A friend called and said, “Hey, I have a few extra plants from my garden that you can have if you want.”  Awwwww… see.   Things always work out.  Well, she may have said she needed to borrow the wifey to hang something in her house.  That’s a fair trade, right?  Deb for a few plants…..

Master Bedroom Progress

Speaking of bated breath.  I know you are waiting with great anticipation for our master bedroom progress.   ????  You can see the full BEFORE post here.  It was sad.

Let’s review…shall we?

We took out these two teeny tiny little closets and replaced it with a giant two-sided walk-in.

But we had issues with installing a door on this opening, because of the natural light.  This house is so light and bright and we wanted it to stay that way.

So, we decided the best solution was to have a sliding barn type door and leave it open most of the time, with the option of closing it when needed.  It would also take up lots of that space to the left of the door.  And, remember, we are all about big and gaudy.

Look at this baby!

I found this GINORMOUS (4′ x 8′) antique pocket door for $50 on Craigslist.  The owners were apparently tearing down an old farmhouse and found this gem.  I nearly died.  This was perfect to fill that space and add a lot of interest to this area.

Final Reveal on One Side of the Master Bedroom!

So what do you think?

Remember when I told you this room was huge?

Well it is 15′ x 28′.  So I have to break the room reveal up into sections.

Because of the sunshine from the window, this cow picture was so hard to photograph.  (I’m not complaining.)

Isn’t she the cutest?  Most people don’t have a cow picture hanging in their bedroom.  ????  I don’t have a name for my decorating style, but, I throw every style together in any room.   I like being able to move things from room to room and not have to worry about color or style.

An antique slag glass window in the closet is a perfect idea for privacy.

And, of course, you NEED a chandelier in the closet.  I recommend one in every room!

Seriously… Deb asked me what my favorite decoration in the entire house was and my choice was this antique grocery cart.

You should have seen her face when I bought this.  I believe her words were, “What in the H#LL are you going to do with that?”

THIS………..THIS IS WHAT I AM GOING TO DO!

Now I want you to take note of the space above my favorite little antique grocery cart.  There is a dumb home alarm system panel and a stupid dial for the master bedroom speakers.

Trust me… We are trying to come up with something to hide both of these.  I despise that area!

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing my posts.  YOU are what motivates me to keep writing.  I pledge my love to you!

Follow our progress on Facebook and Instagram where I share different pictures.

And, Buh Bye Now, said in an old lady’s voice… because how else could you say “Buh bye now.”
