Simple Centerpiece Idea for the Holidays

I visited the hair salon yesterday to get my roots touched up and get all of my hair cut off.  It was looking so terrible after losing probably 60% over the last months. I was losing HANDFULS every morning and every night.  It was all over our house and all over my body.  I would have it hanging on my arms, my shoulders, my face, etc.  My alternative doctor did a thyroid test and checked my Vitamin B12 levels last week. I’m still waiting on those lab resuls, but since I have absolutely no other symptoms, we think it’s hair loss from having Covid in May.  Anyway, while my hair was processing yesterday, I created this simple centerpiece idea for the holidays in my mind.  So, I wanted to share today.

Simple Centerpiece Idea for the Holidays

I wanted something simple down the middle of our table since the fireplace is a focal point on one wall.  And the massive cabinet is on the opposite wall, which I still need to finish decorating.  So I wanted the decor on the table to be noticeable but not over the top.

I started with a pine garland that I fluffed up a bit. You could use the cedar garland, like I have above the windows in our kitchen.  They both make for a pretty base.  I intertwined some eucalyptus garland that I got for the first time this year and love.  It made it a little thicker and added a lot of interest.  Since I had an extra strand of wooden beads, I wrapped them around the two strands of garland as well.  And then I placed some black metal candlesticks around the table with my favorite taper candles. You could, of course, use battery operated ones but I chose the real ones this time.

You could totally add a few Christmas bulbs into this look which would give it some extra color if you want.  I did add a string of mercury glass pinecone garland after I took these photos that looks pretty, too.

Other holiday looks…

I have all of my past holiday looks rounded up in one place for you.  You can find centerpiece ideas, fireplace mantel ideas, DIY projects, how I make my evergreen planters outside each year… so many different ideas.  Check them out if you need some inspiration.

Speaking of the evergreen planters… I will hopefully be working on that this weekend since it’s supposed to be 60 degrees outside.  I need to get the porches Christmas-ified for the upcoming magazine shoot.  So if you are on social media, stay tuned there.  And, as always, I will share here as well.
