Did you know we are working on getting our bedroom put together? Ha! I’ve shared so many different posts on it, like this leaded glass window and this cozy corner. It is the one room that we couldn’t wait to complete. While we don’t spend a ton of time in here, it’s important for it to feel cozy and organized so we can relax at the end of the day. We have lived for two months with this room in total chaos. There were blankets and pillows piled high in the corner. We originally had two chairs in this room that were entirely too big for the space. And many other items hanging out that didn’t belong. The end is near for the completion. Yesterday, I put together this simple fireplace mantel for spring in the bedroom and wanted to share.
We found this antique fireplace mantel almost a year ago. Did you know that we have four mantels in this house to decorate? This one in the bedroom is the third to be completed. I found a wood piece in our stash which I believe to be from the back of a hutch. I had Deb cut it down a bit to be hung above our Frame television. It gives it so much more interest.
When I decorate mantels, I think BIG. I start with the biggest items that will fit in spot and basically cram them in. So keep that in mind when choosing decor for your own mantels.
These urns work perfectly for the look I was going for. They are pretty tall and actually BARELY fit on the mantel. I added some spring stems that I have had for years, which gave this mantel a lot of drama. I’ve said it before. I love drama in my decor but not at all in real life. Ha!
I used two table legs as candlesticks because again… I was thinking BIG. And I added my favorite battery operated pillar candles by Luminara. I’ve had several other battery operated candles and nothing beats that brand. They are the most realistic ones out there. Of course, I added a small rabbit to this look for spring. It was actually a totally different color, but I used rub ‘n buff to change it to gold.
In front of the fireplace, I added a little piece of furniture we found a few years back at a garage sale, which I talked about here. And, displayed my majolica flower pots because I loved the color. And the tiny rocking chair was my grandpa’s, which I am sure one of the grandkids will love to use.
When you stop by debanddanelle.com, I hope you find some inspiration for your own homes… from getting a room put together to something so small as to add artificial flowers to a side table. Those are the very reasons that I follow some of the blogs and websites that I do.

I love every single project that you and “poor Deb” do. I’ve been following since your Winchester days and you work miracles with every house , big and (rental) small!🥰
