Simple Winter Fireplace Mantel

At this point in the game, I will decorating our home for winter rather than Christmas.  We have less than a week to go and there are bigger fish to fry.  Like closing on the house and moving in.  The builder gave us the OK to move some things in to stage our home due to us being content creators.  So we did move a few things over here this past weekend so we can start getting things organized.  One of the first things I did, after the couch was moved, was decorate this huge fireplace mantel. (If you haven’t ready my previous posts on it, you should catch up.)  Although there isn’t much on it, I wanted to share anyways.  This is my version of a simple winter fireplace mantel.

Simple Winter Fireplace Mantel

I think moving is like childbirth.  You forget the pain of it all until you do it again.  Every single thing that you have in your possession has to be picked up, touched and thought about.  And, then a decision has to be made whether you want to give it away, sell it, donate it, or keep it.  It is such an exhausting process.  And then AFTER the move, there is so much more, like making decisions on where to put things in your new home to best suit your lifestyle. The never ending list of items that you need to get organized.  Truly, both Deb and I have said many times over the last few days… Thank God this is the last time.

We also have a huge list of different projects we want to do to our new home.  I know some of you are probably thinking… who moves into a brand new house with a list of projects?  That would be us… Deb and Danelle.  We will never be done with a home until we are no longer walking this Earth.  It is who we are.

Frame TV Makeover

The reason I brought that up is because this frame on our television will be getting a makeover soon.  I absolutely love the style of this frame, but the gold needs toned down a little bit.  You can’t tell on these photos actually how bright it is. I want it to match our antique chandeliers a bit more.  So I will be using some rub and buff to make that happen.  And, I will share that here once it’s done, so stay tuned.

I added my absolute favorite Cedar evergreen trees that I bought last year on each side of the mantel.  They are SO REALISTIC.  These are some that you can keep out in your decor all year.  Because I don’t think they look too Christmas-y.  They will look adorable for Valentines day all decked out with my little heart ornaments that I made a few years ago.

I then added my little barrels from my collaboration with Antique Farmhouse.  And, I shared that entire collection several weeks ago.  I love the warmth and texture that they bring to this simple winter look.  Of course, I had to add our DIY candlesticks.  Do you remember when we did that project?  It was a really simple and fun one.

Down below, I added a metal urn on each side that is also part of my collection with Antique Farmhouse.  And, I added these natural alpine trees that I also got last year on major sale.  They were used outside on our porch last year at the cottage and worked perfectly for that.

I love how this simple winter fireplace mantel turned out.  And, I hope it gave you some ideas for your own decor for the upcoming winter months.
