Home Tour

Sink Side Display in the Cottage

If you have been watching stories over on Instagram, you already know this.  We are SOOOOO CLOSE to moving all of our goodies into the cottage and being completely out of the rental.  We recently installed our countertops which I will be sharing with you soon.  And, since we have a pretty surface, I just HAD to display some of our home decor.  I miss styling spaces so bad.  We have been working so hard on getting this place finished that I haven’t gotten to do that much.

I had to stop by the rental yesterday so I grabbed a few things that I thought would look cute displayed by our kitchen sink.  Because I like my spaces full, I like to layer my home decor into the spaces.  You know this more than likely won’t stay forever, but I had a blast doing this.  So, I thought it would be fun to share with you so that maybe you could get some inspiration of your own.

Here is what I came up with.

Sink Side Display in the Cottage

I started with my little two drawer wooden box that I had in the rental as our silverware drawer.  And, then I added a tall mirror to add some height behind the coffee maker.  To be honest, I am looking for some type of antique upper cabinet for this space but haven’t found the right piece.  But this will do for now.  And, then I added a faux plant.

I then added a little rattan or wicker tray beside the sink.  Adding a simple tray makes several smaller things look like one item creating a less busy look.  I found this little wooden house at a place called Mudpie.  I love it.  It is supposed to be a utensil holder, but I’ve used it as a plant holder and now to hold all of my kitchen sink brushes.  I think it is adorable.

Other fun items from Mudpie.

And then, of course, I had to add my absolute favorite candle of all time.  I am CRAZY about Farmhouse Waffle by Katie Cloud.  Stress Baking is another one that is a baking scent that I love, too.  I’ve shared them so many times before and actually have a code for 10% off if you are a new customer.

Anyway… I had a blast throwing this little area together.  Like I said, it will more than like change, but it was good to be creative in this way again.  Stay tuned for more home decor posts, because next week, the focus is to be on MOVING ALL OF THE THINGS.
