The Squatter’s Camp – Tour the Outside and Huge Backcountry Sale

This post is sponsored by Backcountry and ShopStyle Collective.  All opinions are my own.

Backcountry is having the biggest sale of their season with up to 50% off on gear, apparel, and accessories.  It includes the brands Reebok, Vans, Nike, Hoka, and so many more.

We are full into fun summer projects here in the woods, including our pergola swing we built.  The deck is almost finished.  And, of course, The Squatter’s Camp project.  If you have missed any of this fun project, you need to check out my other posts on it.  Our nephews, Jake and Andy, have had so much fun creating this little structure and have worked so hard.

They started with building the shelter at the camp.   If you remember, their budget is $0 for this project.  I cannot believe how awesome this camp is looking.  Jake found some bricks in the woods for the flooring.   He made all of the shutters for the windows out of scrap wood.  They found this door in grandpa’s barn so Deb helped them revamp it into a dutch door.  I wanted to share a tour of the outside space of the camp and show you what they did.

Outside the Squatter’s Camp

First off, every single camp needs a hammock.  Therefore, we shopped our favorite website, Backcountry, for this Eagles Nest Outfitters SingleNest Hammock and donated it to them.  They were thrilled.  Deb and the boys found the perfect trees to hang it between.  After all, the workers need a place to nap.  ????

If you are new to Backcountry, they are a premium and outdoor lifestyle retailer.  They carry all of our favorite brands including Nike, Hoka, The North Face, and so many more.  We knew we would find the perfect hammock for the camp.  The Eagles Nest Hammock comes in several different colors.  We chose the olive color so it would blend nicely with nature.

After they hung their new hammock, Jake showed us his Jenga game he made form scrap 2x4s.  He also made a little one person ping pong game, too.   Did you notice the table and chairs?  He made this table from an old barn door and grabbed some logs that were laying in the woods.

We have had a very, very busy  summer working on all of our projects.  Stay tuned for more updates from The Squatter’s Camp.  They have lots more planned.

This has been such a fun project for me to watch evolve.
