We have thoroughly been enjoying our Trashed Tuesdays.  Have you?  

These projects get Deb back into her workshop where she loves to spend time.  It helps her dig into her creative side again.  She had the coolest workshop in the basement of our store front when we owned it.  Our store was called The Tattered Treasures.  It was an old brick building downtown that was built in 1897.  The basement was damp and musty smelling, but she had it very organized.  And, it was a great size. Deb LOVED that workshop.  In fact, when we decided to sell the store, I was sad for her.  However…..

She is going to feel like she won the lottery when we get our house built, and this cottage becomes her new workshop.  It will be a sight to see, just saying.  She will have the most beautiful workshop in the world.  ????  The chandeliers will all go to the house, as well as all of the furniture.  But, more than likely the fireplace and television will stay.   I can’t wait!  And neither can she.  ????

Back to today’s Trashed Tuesday piece.  

I wanted an unusual tree collar for our new tree.  I actually have a huge basket that would have looked really pretty, but it was 2″ too small.  Sooooo… I asked Deb to make me a box to use.  She decided that using a pallet would be perfect and we could use it for this week’s Trashed Tuesday piece.  And that is what she did.

Trashed Tuesday – Christmas Tree Collar made from a Pallet

I won’t go into HOW she actually made it because there is highlight over on our Instagram account where she shows that.  But by looking at the pics here, it is pretty self explanatory.  She measured the size of box we wanted and cut all of the pieces for each side at the same time.  You can really design it to look any way you wanted.  And add tons of detail.  But, we both loved this design the best because it is more simple.  Which is what I prefer.

She debated on adding a hinge to the sides so that it is collapsible.  It would be way easier to store that way.  But, as she said in her stories, she didn’t have the correct hinges so she used screws.  It could easily be changed though.
