If you are new around here, you need to know about Trashed Tuesdays. No, it doesn’t mean Deb and I sit around and drink until we get trashed. It is us creating something out of things that would normally be thrown away. Normally, it’s a repurposed item from something we were going to donate. Sometimes it is something we found at a thrift store that someone else donated. And last week, it was a mirror that one of the girls gave to us. She wanted it back after she saw what we did with it. ????
If you watched stories all week, Deb thought she was going to repurpose some old sewing machine drawers. But things didn’t go so well in the workshop. ???? She was out there all day and got nowhere. Those will be left for another time. When that project got tossed aside, she decided to make some Christmas trees out of old wood scraps.
You can see the wooden trees are pretty self explanatory. She cut out a triangle and used anything else for a base. She used a square that she had in her scraps, an odd piece that she cut off the top of another project, and spindle. And then she attached the top and base with a dowel screw and gave them a coat of paint and distressed them.
Here is how they turned out.
I think these wooden trees turned out so dang cute. I just said that out loud and Deb said, “I would throw them away in a heart beat!” ???? They will be so cute inside of my china cabinets all year long, as I don’t think they scream Christmas!
