Camper Renovation: Woodland Wallpaper

From the very beginning, we knew we were going to paint the entire inside of the camper white.  I have said it before that I wanted to stick with my woods and whites theme that I love so much.  I quickly realized that there would be no “stuff” to decorate the camper.  There will be faux plants, candles, etc, but I want my woods and whites camper to still feel warm.  Adding wallpaper to the camper was my solution.

I searched for wallpaper on so many different sites.  We are keeping the cost down for the camper renovation because we are saving for the house. So I kept “cost” and “woods and whites” in my mind while searching.  I stumbled upon this woodlands theme wallpaper and fell in love.  We are bird nerds  ???????? so it fits perfectly with our taste.  And for around $30 per roll, it is very budget friendly.

Camper Wallpaper

I have hung wallpaper more times than you know.  I have also REMOVED wallpaper too many times to count.  ???? Wallpaper has come a long way.  You can watch any You-tube video on how to install it if you don’t know.  But, I was getting lots of questions about what we did to prep the walls before applying this wallpaper.

The old paper that was in the camper was still in excellent condition.  There were a few places that were loose in the corners.  So, we removed those areas only and papered directly over the old.  I have never removed wallpaper from a camper before but it almost seems like the original is contact paper quality.  So I didn’t want to mess with that.   We had a small camper years ago and I also wallpapered directly over the old and it held up excellent.

What’s to come…

Well… I thought one roll of this woodland theme wallpaper would do the bathroom and this little dining area, but I thought wrong.  ???? I have another roll on the way.  Also, the wood look wallpaper that we hung in the bedroom as an accent wall is going to be installed as a back splash, too.  AND… we ran out of that.  ????  So that is also ordered.  Those projects are to come.

We did receive our white curtains and curtain rods, so those will be installed soon.  I cannot wait to see what those look like.  We have touch-up painting to finish on the cabinets and walls.  We haven’t touched the bathroom, so the walls and vanity both need two coats of paint.   We will be painting the vanity just like the kitchen cabinets.

Deb will be installing new sinks and faucets and a new toilet.  And, of course, some type of flooring.  We also have some fun lighting coming up so stay tuned for that.

What do you think so far?  Let me know here in the comments or over on Instagram.  I usually post all of these projects on stories so be watching for fun things to come.

  • Well I’m totally floored on the before and after so far. It is going to be as gorgeous as your home. So your next career when you get done with your house can be flipping campers or advising camper companies on how to do the insides. Great job ????

  • I keep showing my husband all the changes you are making in your trailer and saying we need to do that! He thinks I’m nuts but, just you wait! With this lock down, I’ve got plans. We have a 2008 Alum-A-Lite that’s getting a big remodel ???? Thanks for all the ideas girls. Keep ‘em coming!

  • Looks terrific so far!! Keep up the good work & excellent choices of materials you’re using♥️♥️

  • I usually don't like wall paper. Especially when it's very bold and busy.
BUT I'm live this one! Elegant yet simple.

  • Love the transformation! That bird wallpaper is awesome! A great example of a bigger pattern making that space feel bigger. Indiana weather finally cooperated so you got to make some progress!

  • It looks amazing...I used to have wallpaper and I removed it all. You are inspiring me to paint my bedroom at least....great job!

  • What a difference you two have made!!! I absolutely love that wallpaper! Excited to see it all completed.

  • I remodeled the interior of a sail boat once. We only had it a few years, we used it on Grand Lake Saint Mary’s. It was fun It had a cabin that slept 6 So much fun! Love seeing your progress. Can wait for some updates on the house.

    • Thank you. I cannot wait for the house either... but who knows when things will happen now. ????
