Cottage Kitchen Tour

I posted this reel over on Instagram last week and realized something.  I don’t know if I have ever shared our entire cottage kitchen.  Which totally shocks me since we have been here almost a year already.  And that’s another thing that shocks me.  One whole year living in this cottage.   If you are new here, this was built to be a temporary place to live just to get us out of the rental we were in.  This building will soon be Deb’s workshop where she will do all kinds of projects.  It will also be a storage area.

I am telling you that because we didn’t want to put a bunch of money into this kitchen.  This kitchen will all stay here when we move to the house and will be used as a canning kitchen to keep our main kitchen clean.  The lighting and all of the furniture will, of course, be moved into the house, but the lower cabinets and appliances will stay.

Let’s get on with the cottage kitchen tour.

Cottage Kitchen Tour

Again, we didn’t want to put much money into the kitchen here in the cottage, but we wanted it to look pretty and like our style.  We opted for just buying a few lower kitchen cabinets and using random upper cabinets.  We found them at Menards and had to put them together.  Oh…and, it took us FOREVER to put four cabinets together.  ????  That was NOT a fun job whatsoever.  But, they look pretty and do the job.  I am NOT however impressed with the quality.  They are perfect for here in the barn, but I wouldn’t have them in the house.

I shared the story about all of the upper cabinets in different posts:  Upper cabinet to the right of the sink, the white cabinet to the left of the sink, and the range hood.

And if you have been around awhile, you probably remember the darker upper cabinet to the left of the range hood.  We had that hanging in the rental.  That is soon going to get a makeover.  I want to strip it using the oven cleaner method to make it lighter.  So stay tuned for that.   The kitchen island has a great story which I will be sharing soon, as well.

And that is the tour of the kitchen in the cottage!  It has served it’s purpose and we love how it turned out.
