How to Make your own Candle

I’ve been talking a lot about styling each room individually recently and it’s been way easier for me to focus.  Because I have adult ADD.  Well, I am currently working on getting the dining room put together.  I have about 1/3 of it styled and have been working here and there on the other parts.  We brought in the lower part of that massive cabinet last week and it’s making me more excited to work on the upper part.  I still have to paint the inside of the lower section.  And, I also want to paint the inside of our large primitive cabinet in that room to hold my pretty dishes.  It’s currently holding my candles which was temporary.  Well, I mentioned that I have ADD.  While I was emptying out the candles to paint yesterday, I got sidetracked when I saw my box of candle supplies from Antique Candle Co.  And decided to switch gears.  Rather than paint, I made my own candle.  Today, I want to share how to make your own candle.

How to Make your own Candle

First off, Antique Candle Co has excellent candles. They actually gave me a code that I used myself when I ordered.  Ha!  You can use DANELLE10 site wide for 10% off. Normally, my code works on top of any sales, too.  So make sure you enter that.  They have candles that are already poured in glass jars.  And, they also have candles poured in antique items.   I think the best thing is that Antique Candle Co also sells wax to pour your own candles in anything you want.

Do you remember my small antique haul a few weeks back?  I bought the silver bowl specifically for my own candle.  I love the patina on it.  The silver tarnished a pretty goldish color.  And since I love mixing metals, this was a perfect container for me to use.

The simple directions are on the back of the package when your order wax to pour your own candles, including where to place the wicks.  So, I’m not going to go into those details.  I thought I would share all of the photos to make it self explanatory.

I ended up buying this candle making pouring pot to keep aside for doing this, which made it really convenient.  Probably the hardest part was figuring out how much wax to melt.  I decided that I was going to melt all of what I had and had several containers ready to go.  But, all of the wax fit into the one large container.  My mind started spinning with the possibilities of making more.  So, I will be using my code again to order another batch.

Click here and use my code DANELLE10 for 10% off site wide at Antique Candle, Co.

Let me know if you try to make your own candles.  It’s a fun little project to do when it’s rainy and dreery ouside.

Get the wax to make your own candles here and use code DANELLE 10.
