If you have been following along, you know we are getting so close to being done with our garden area! So close!! This week, we are dedicating our time to finishing up the picket fence that will not only provide an added visual appeal to the space but will also keep out unwanted animals that might want to make a snack of our produce!

So, to continue our series of in-feed inspiration, we are going to stick with the topic of gardening, since that is where our minds are focusing this week. With our picket fence as a muse, I want to show you some of my favorite Instagram and Pinterest accounts that feature English Gardens! 

English Garden Edition

But first, what is an English Garden? This type of garden got its start in 18th-century England as a revolt against the artificial style of architectural gardens that were popular at the time. English gardens have a romantic feel and often include grasses, trees, bodies of water, walkways, and an abundance of plants and flowers. 

Clark Cottage Gardens 

Erin Clark is a garden designer in Maine who offers beautiful photos and gardening tips. One such tip is that you should have a fence to provide structure and height for floppy flowers such as cosmos! Not only does it provide support for your plants, but a fence can really help the colors of your plants to pop and stand out. Her white picket fence provides so much contrast to her bright, colorful flowers! Her accounts is one of my personal favorites. 

Garden Bibbling About

Julius Plowman has a gorgeous English Garden in Norfolk. If you love flowers, you will love this account, because it has ALL the flowers! Julius identifies all the flowers by name, and his photos are stunning! 

Vintage White

In addition to having a beautiful English garden, Lois is renovating a charming cottage and finds beautiful time-worn treasures for the home. I appreciate the neutral palette of her spaces with some added soft colors. The whole account could be pulled from a fairytale book! 

Modern Frontierswoman

Audrey Schultz focuses on modern gardens, food, and design. I particularly enjoyed her pin, The Top 20 Flowers for a Cottage Garden. She also has some great information about starting plants indoors, creating a survival garden, and cottage garden designs. 

Get Busy Gardening

Amy Andrychowicz has a site all about gardening for beginners, and I love her pin about creating an easy perennial garden. She also has some awesome information about natural garden pest control, how to best prune plants, and how to build a vertical garden. 

I had so much fun looking at all of these Instagram and Pinterest accounts and pulling motivation from all of their combined knowledge and experience. Let’s be real, I also just love looking at all of the beautiful pictures! I hope this has inspired you, also!
