We have been working so hard to get the posts in place in front of our recently added garden area. We had one set of posts in place, and thought we could easily replace the missing tops and bottoms of them. But they were going to cost $800-$1,000 to do so. Luckily, Deb is a professional at finding things on Facebook Marketplace, so we got “new” used posts that have everything we need. And, we got them for a fraction of the cost. The above photo is mid-progress obviously. We have had a few issues but we are determined to get this project done soon. Check out the new posts and what we paid for them here.
I call this the project-that-never-ends. Ha! But, as this project winds down, we wanted to look at other pergola areas from Instagram and Pinterest to see the finishing touches others used for their posts.
Adrienne is a salon owner and award-winning colorist, but her design skills are also on point. Look at this beautiful patio pergola that intersects with her backyard garden area. I love the ceiling fan as well as the hanging ferns.
This UK mom focuses on her home and family, and in her backyard she has this lovely pergola area. I was drawn to this one because of all the textures. I love the mix of wood, concrete, and stone all in one seamless design. Add in the green vegetation, and… amazing!
Amy from the Old Malt Kiln has created a pergola area that is beautiful in its simplicity which works perfectly with the lush garden surrounding it. The light fixture in the center pulls it all together for me.
Wanda from Gardener’s Oasis gives us seven ways to cover your outdoor pergola to protect it from the sun and rain. The covers vary from using fabric to plants with full waterproof options to options just provide some shade. There is something here for everyone!
The Backyard Showcase teaches us how to decorate a backyard pergola like a pro with all of the decorating tips! The top five items they dive into are lighting, furniture, plants, privacy, and paint and stain, and how each of these items will affect your outdoor space. It is short and sweet but hits some great points.
I hope that you took away a few useful ideas from our search! After a whole lot of searching, I have come to the conclusion that our posts in front of the garden are fairly unique as far as overall design. I didn’t run across another garden pergola structure quite like ours… which makes me love it that much more! Hopefully, we can share the finished project very soon.
