Make Delicious Tasting Coffee with Almond Cow and Lifeboost Coffee

As you know, we’ve been on a health journey this year.   We knew we wanted to make some changes, but felt so overwhelmed with ALL THE THINGS.   So, we decided to just focus on one thing at a time and practice that new habit over an entire month.  Our January goal was simply to give up coffee creamer…. aka the creamers with all the chemicals.  Because, quite frankly, we would drink a little coffee with our creamer.  ????  We just knew that wasn’t a good way to start out the day.  (Read our goals for:  February, March, April)

I don’t know about you, but if you love sweet creamer in your coffee, it’s really hard to make the switch to black coffee overnight.  We learned this really quick. ????  The bitterness of the coffee we were drinking was just overwhelming.  We could barely get a half of a cup down each morning.  And, I refused to give it up.  I feel like drinking coffee is a ritual.  ???? It’s nice to enjoy with a friend, spouse, or anyone really.  But how can we make a delicious cup of coffee that is also healthy?

Lifeboost Coffee

We have a Capresso coffeemaker that grinds the beans with every cup of coffee.  It also has a setting to make our coffee weak or strong.  We bought our normal coffee beans as we transitioned from half creamer/half coffee and it was still a struggle.  We even set the coffeemaker on the weakest setting we could, and it still tasted bitter to us.  ????  And then it all turned around we found Lifeboost coffee.

I worked with Lifeboost a few months ago on a campaign.  So they sent me a package of their organic medium roast coffee.  Their beans are grown to full maturity in mountain shade and then hand-picked.  ❤️  No pesticides are EVER used.  They are spring water washed and then dried slowly in the sun until they have reach the perfect humidity content.  Then they go into a 30-day “rest” period to enhance the richness.  Doesn’t that sounds just perfect?

I found out why some coffee tastes so bitter.  They contain mycotoxins… aka MOLD.  Companies who sell really cheap coffee usually use lower quality beans or even mix high and low quality together.  Lots of them use chemicals,  And, they don’t pay attention to the drying process which can cause mold.  Lifeboost coffee goes through many steps and several taste testing before it is ready for consumers.  Therefore, producing a DELICIOUS, smooth cup of coffee.

Almond Cow – The Plant-Based Milk Maker

Even though we can thoroughly enjoy our Lifeboost coffee black, we still like some variety every now and then.  We obviously didn’t want to go back to the nasty chemical-filled creamers.  I had heard of people making their own nut milk before and wanted to try it for myself.  I knew there were several ways to make it which included soaking your nuts…. and then squeezing the milk through a “nut bag.”   ???? (I absolutely do not like either one of those words… those two together makes them a HARD NO.)  So, I was doing some research on the subject and stumbled upon Almond Cow.

Almond Cow makes a fun gadget that whips up nut milk in minutes.  And don’t let the name fool you.  It’s not only for ALMONDS.  You can use ANY nut or seed to make plant-based milk.  They have an entire section on their site that shares different blends and recipes to make delicious nut milk.  I’m staying away from all grains, BUT, you can add oats to your nut milk.  I bet that would be delicious with your morning oatmeal.  It would give it another layer of flavor.

Almond Cow is perfect for people who cannot have cow’s milk or who want to refrain from any type of dairy in recipes, etc.  Or for people who are just trying to be a little healthier in general.  The only ingredient in your nut milk is what you put in it yourself.  There are obviously no fillers, no thickening agents, and no preservatives.  Yay to that!

We have been thoroughly enjoying our Lifeboost coffee with different flavors of nut milk, including plain almond and a combo of cashew / cinnamon.  I have some raw cashews on the way, which should be delivered tomorrow.  Within minutes, we can make such great flavors to enjoy with our coffee.

Accessories

I did get a large glass container to store my milk in the refrigerator, which works perfectly.  Also, these swing-lid bottles are such a great idea if you prefer to experiment with different flavored nut milks at the same time.  You will always have a choice at your fingertips.   I found these cute little vintage looking bottles and these with a chalkboard label so you don’t get them mixed up which would be very convenient and organized.  Don’t forget!  If you are going to be a nut milk maker, you will need a bottle brush and funnel, too.  I use mine on the regular.

The dark, medium, and light roast, and the vanilla are all delicious.  I grabbed a bag of coffee a few days back and just added the beans to our coffeemaker.  The next day, Deb said, “Wow.. .this coffee tastes like shit.”  ???? I was so confused.  I realized I added our old coffee beans we used before switching to Lifeboost from a bag that was open in the pantry.  It tasted HORRIBLE compared to what we’ve been drinking.

If you are a coffee snob, you should definitely try Lifeboost coffees.  I did get you guys a code to save you a little moola.

  • Does the nut milk maker produce a by-product of ground nuts after it blends the milk? Or is the entire nut pulverized to the point of disappearing? Very intriguing.
