I could hardly wait to share my May fireplace mantel idea with you. If you are new here, I share a fireplace mantel idea every month.   I didn’t have a mantel for so long and have loved coming up with new ideas.  If you want to see some of my past styles, search FIREPLACE MANTEL in the search bar above and they will all pop up. For the month of April, I did one that isn’t asymmetrical, which isn’t my typical style.  But it was fun.

We bought this mantel down south when we went on a little trip.  It will be one of the mantels in our new build and I can hardly wait.  It either had to go to storage or some place here in the rental.  So it sits here… behind the couch.  Not the ideal situation, but at least we can enjoy it.

I knew what I wanted for this months look….. simply a large sign with a few little flowers and candlesticks.  That’s it…. plain and simple.  One day, I randomly googled ANTIQUE SIGNS… and this Antiques sign from Walls of Wisdom popped up.   Walls of Wisdom ended up sending me this sign and I freaking love it.  What you aren’t going to believe is that it is a canvas.  It looks so much like an original rusty antique sign.

May Fireplace Mantel

Like I said, I wanted to stay plain and simple this month… nothing too frilly or too busy.  This Antiques sign adds so much texture to the fireplace mantel since it looks like it’s rusty.  ???? I added this architectural piece under the sign just to give it a little more interest.  And it also keeps with my woods and whites theme I love so much.

I have shared these GORGEOUS peonies before.. maybe last month.  BUT… they don’t only LOOK real, but they FEEL real.  I love them so much and thought they look cute up on the mantel this month.

And then, I added some these wooden candlesticks to the mix, too.  We all need a little ambiance with candles.  They are absolutely gorgeous and of such great quality.  It looks like only one size available now (18″) for only $17.  Which I think is a great price for heavy wood candlesticks.  I will use these in so many different areas of the house.

Pillows….

You know me and my pillow obsession.  I always have to add a few more to the mix.  I found this round pillow to use on our porch makeover which is coming soon.  BUT… they are out of stock after I shared them a few weeks ago.  I did find a few others that I love, too, which I may have to grab for the porch.

I, of course, had to show you guys my new little fig tree in this basket.  I love it so much.  That, too, is out of stock.  ????BUT… I found one so similar in size, cost, and look if you are interested.
