Office / Craft Room Reveal

If you saw my post on Instagram and Facebook yesterday, you already know I was feeling a little “off.”  I got up yesterday morning, put on my pants, filled my pockets with pity, and had myself a party.

It’s Party Time

I spent the entire day yesterday filled with anxiety and worrying about things out of my control.  I, then, started feeling sorry for myself, cracked myself a beer, and threw myself a big pity party on our back patio.  The party continued into the night and I ended up transferring my funk to the wifey and threw some pity in her pockets.    She whipped up some appetizers and a main course for this pitiful evening and threw it on the grill.

We both ended up being so SOUR, and in such a funk, and it was all because of my initial attitude of the morning.  You all know how this kind of day ends.   If not…. enjoy the following…

The food was burnt.  A bird $hit on Deb’s head.  A bug flew into her nose hole.   And, we went to bed at 8:30.   Note who paid the price for my horrible attitude.

I am truly so ashamed.

I’m so mad at myself for wasting an entire day acting a’fool when I have a fabulous life.  There are many, many people who have the right to feel that way, but absolutely 100% NOT me.

I ended up crying.

It was horrible.

But….

I woke up with a new TUDE!

THANKS SO MUCH for all of the comments on Facebook and Instagram reminding me that when I feel this way, I need to take the time to relax.  I need not to worry and beat myself up about it because everyone feels this way now and then.   I’m sorry to everyone that I came in contact with and filled their pockets with funk.    I ask for forgiveness .  ????

Moving right along now….

I’ve been wanting to share my happy place with you all for so long.  It’s my office/craft room… aka Arts and Crafts: K-12.  It’s where I store my sewing machine and craft supplies.  It’s my own sunny space to create and complete projects that swirl around my mind all night long.

If you didn’t see the before pictures, you have to check them out.  And, also read about an unexpected visitor while cleaning out the house.

It’s the smallest of four bedrooms and works perfect for what I need, and the door can be closed if a project isn’t complete.

The Office Reveal

*** I should have focused on this sign yesterday.***  I made it from a twin sized foot board in our stash.  I had no clue what to do with it until I leaned it up against our desk and it was the exact size.

We chose to go with these white curtains to keep things light and airy.  They, are in fact, hung in most of the upstairs rooms except the master bedroom and the bathroom.

Do you love these old phones from the 1940s?  I bought this from a local photographer that was selling all of their photo props.  My great grandma had one similar to this and I thought it was the bomb.  I love the sound the dial makes.  ????

I bought parts of an old table from an antique shop, Woodwings, here in our hometown, that we used as a shelf on this wall.  If you haven’t been there, YOU MUST GO!  They have the coolest items with such good prices.  Follow them along as they regularly post on Instagram an Facebook.

This little card catalog is perfect to store all of my extra supplies.  Yes, I have the drawers labeled with the corresponding junk.

Deb made this gorgeous cabinet out of antique front door side lights.  I know… everyone needs a Deb.

Do you love rusty junk?

Aren’t these old scales fabulous?

And how about my $4.00 basket of OLD LADY FLOWERS.  I plucked out all of the colored flowers and wound up with this.  I think it is worth $4.00.  ????

Thanks so much for supporting me even through my sour times.  It means so much to me.  I pledge my love!

Let me know what you think in the comment section.  I’m excited to show you what Deb’s creative space looks like tomorrow with the Five on Friday.  It’s a bit different from mine.  ????????

Buh bye now, said in a high-pitched, old lady’s voice.

  • I absolutely love your blog!!!! Love seeing the inspiring pictures and your down to earth writings!

  • I'm so glad you're feeling better and hopefully Deb's day went better too..???? ????????Love your creative space... ????

  • Love your office/craft room! Just wondering the color and brand of your white paint? Walls , trim? It all looks so crisp, clean, bright and airy! Any tips or suggestions?

    • Thanks, Karen. ???? I used regular old white out of the can for the trim paint and Sherwin Williams Pearly White on all of our walls. I think keeping everything a light color gives you the ability to add any color you want to change the look easily.
