Village House Display with Bottlebrush Trees

As soon as I saw this little white village pop up this year, I just fell in love.  They were a bit pricey but I knew they were something that would be in my decor for years and years to come. I was pleasantly surprised when they arrived, because they were a lot bigger than I expected.  And the quality is EXCELLENT.  I have so many different ideas for styling these little white houses, even past Christmas.  By tucking them inside of cabinets mixed with my white dishes, I think these could be displayed all year long.   

They were setting out on the dining table during our Thanksgiving gathering last week.  I saw Titus, our four year old grandson, staring at each one of them.  He even walked around them looking at all of the detail on the windows and doors.  I remember doing the same thing when I was little.  There is something fascinating about them, I do have to say.

How I added them into my decor for the holidays.

I decided to add them to the riser that Deb made a few years back… And set them on the big piece of furniture that we used to use as an island at the rental.  Do you remember it?  We ended up painting it and refinishing the top while we were there.  It’s funny how parts of your life give you different feelings.  While we were thrilled to have found a house to rent, that was a very hard time in our lives.  We like ongoing projects and to own what we put our hard work into.   Not to mention it was the year 2020.  I don’t think I need to say anymore about that.

After I had the little white village houses displayed where I wanted them, I added my bottle brush trees and loved the way they look all together.  And then I sprinkled some fake snow around just to make it look a little more wintery.  And added a set of battery operated snowflake lights that I had in my stash.

I can see this little village this spring and summer displayed so many different places.  I am sure you will see them elsewhere really soon.
