Did you see that I shared the shower door in our main bathroom a few weeks ago?  It is the prettiest shower door ever.  I talked about the details of that but I never shared our vintage decor in the bathroom.  I added a few things a few weeks back.  But as we are moving items from the cottage to the house, I am trying to find places for them.  So a few different vintage things landed here.

Vintage Decor in the Bathroom

Do you remember when I found this cute little vintage step stool on the 127 Yard Sales last summer?  I shared that, along with everything else I found over on this post. Which, by the way, I am talking about my yard sale finds while there is snow on the ground.  It is making me really long for yard sales and flea markets.

This cute little step stool got a good cleaning.  And Deb sanded it down for me which removed some of the caked-on dirt.  I am assuming it was setting in a garage throughout the years because it was bad.  I added an old basket and filled it with towels to keep them close by the shower.  And, of course, a cute little plant.

Across this small space….

we hung the medicine cabinet that Deb made.  This little cabinet has been everywhere.  Do you remember it?  I shared the story behind this piece on this post.  It is a cabinet that I love so much.  I remember the specific day she made this.  We were both working in the garage on projects.  And she used random wood pieces from her stash.  While I was giving it a coat of paint, she was talking about wanting to sell it at our storefront.  Ummmm, I don’t think so.

I added a realistic plant in a cute container on the top of this medicine cabinet to give it a little life… along with another old basket.  It is how I am bringing in warmth with all of the white.  And do you remember this picture?

I made this out of wooden letters and an old picture frame.  This is actually the back of the original canvas.  If I turned it over, you would see a gentleman who I don’t know.  I think I found this picture at a thrift store.  I loved the way it looked with the saying.  It’s tattered and torn which adds to the character.

I found this cute round bathmat and loved the way it looked.  I think it matches our style perfectly.  And did you see we switched out our register vents?  We found these at such a great price.  Rather than changing out your entire house, I suggest purchasing a few for the register vents that are seen.  Like this one.  Why not have something pretty for a little bit of money?

Checklist of things to do yet in this space:

I want to hang some type of leaded glass somewhere in here. I know you are probably thinking… isn’t it full enough?  No.. it isn’t.  Ha!

The glass in the medicine cabinet needs some type of cover on the back.  I am thinking of maybe giving it a coat of white paint.  I don’t like the see all of the contents.

There is also a place below the picture that I want to fill.  And, again.. No… it isn’t full enough. In our stash, we have an old church hymnal rack from the back of our church pew.  How cute would that be in this space filled with some type of collection?

The bathmat is perfect, but I think adding another patterned rug underneath it would look really good.  It would still be neutral, but I think I would like the layers.

Anyway.. stay tuned for those changes.  I will for sure share them here.

  • Well, I wish I'd seen that adorable step stool before I painted over my mother's step stool. I just got it from my daughter and it was a mess with dirt and food splatter. It sat in my mom's kitchen. It was blue and now I've painted over that with French beige. Pooh!!!! I guess I could try to wipe it off. Ha ha, I love your tours and your site. You have know idea how much it helps my mood each day! Keep doing you.

    • Michelle, thanks for following along! You can always repaint it to look like the original. But, it will be special in your own way because it was your moms.

  • Oh I wish I could come hangout with you two. Everything you do is what I love. That medicine cabinet is over the top.
Need to run, off to find great moldings to make me one… have a great day!

  • Wow, I love your creative style and your resourcefulness! Love everything you two have done in all your different homes. Keep the inspiration coming 😍

  • Where did you purchase the wooden letters that are displayed in the old picture frame?
