Winter Decor

Christmas in the Bedroom at the Rental

There really are only four rooms to decorate here at the rental so I decided I would for sure share ALL of them with you.  Well, the office could be decorated, but that is our catch-all room.  And then we get sick of it, pick it up, and start throwing junk in there again.  You know the drill.  Anyways… I threw together a VERY quick Wintery look in the bedroom and wanted to share.  It was so inexpensive and literally took a few minutes.

First off, do you remember these shutters in the old house?   They were in the master bedroom and I did a quick Winter theme then, too.  Maybe that’s my thing.  I know I don’t like to take tons of time to decorate for Christmas since it seems like it isn’t up for very long.  I am SO enjoying the lights on the trees this year, though.  It makes this temporary house feel so warm and cozy.  And covers up the turd-like feel… Hey!  It’s a rental.  ????

Christmas in the Bedroom at the Rental

We had these shutters in storage for awhile and decided to pull them back out to use them again as a headboard.  I have the urge to always freshen things up.  We did have our fireplace mantel as our headboard for awhile, but that’s behind the couch these days. ???? We will be using it as our actual fireplace mantel at the new house. It’s massive and I love it.

Anyways…. back to the bedroom.  I decided to keep it simple like I said.  I hung my Bethlehem Lights wreath from QVC in the center of the barn shutters.  I then added a few pompom garlands and my furry yarn I found at Walmart.  I can’t even link it because it is only sold in stores.  But it is so soft and furry.  And adds a different texture which I am all about.  I decorated each of the side tables with a small Christmas tree in an antique looking urn.

I always bring out the furry pillows in the Winter because I think they look like snow.  I added a large knitted sweater pillow and a throw which both remind me of being cozy in the Winter.  And, I added two more little textury pillows that look like they are littered with snowballs.  Speaking of snowballs, I filled an antique bowl with ones I made a few years back.  I found some that look just like them and are way less expensive than when I made mine.

I hope you enjoyed the Christmas tour of the bedroom at the rental.   And, I hope you got some new ideas for your own decor.  Let me know what you think either in the comments or over on Instagram and Facebook.  I love hearing from you guys.
