Tray Styling: Two Different Trays with Two Different Looks

I love to style trays.  They are so versatile and come in so many different shapes and sizes.  I think they are a great foundation for a little grouping on the kitchen countertop, coffee table, and dining table.  If you like to display lots of smaller things, adding some type of tray is a must in my opinion.  It groups the little items together and makes them look a little less cluttery.  I recently styled two different trays with two different looks over on social media.  And, of course, I wanted to share it all here as well.  So today, I am calling this post….

Tray Styling: Two Different Trays with Two Different Looks

Look Number 1

I have so many different trays that I have collected throughout the years.  I personally love the type that add a totally different texture to my space.  Maybe it’s because I use a lot of white within my decor.  But for the first look, I chose this huge seagrass tray that I have had for over a year now.  It is not only perfect for displaying items in your home decor, but it’s great to use, too.  We carry snacks and drinks out to the porch with this tray.  And, it adds the warmth I love with all of my white.

After I had my base, I started adding layers of different items that I use regularly.  It’s also something that I love to do. If you have a set of really pretty dishes or silverware, add them to your home decor.  You will use them a lot more because they are right at your fingertips.  Plus you get to see them daily rather them being tucked away in a drawer.

Look Number 2

I started with a completely different type of tray than I am used to.  This one adds more of a rustic feel.  It is made from weathered wood and metal type handles.  It’s a smaller size than the seagrass one above, which is perfect for smaller dining tables.  Which is what I styled this one for.  And as you can see, I added a lot of things to this tray that you would need at the kitchen table, including my favorite salt cellar, wood pepper grinder, butter dish, etc.

Sources for Look Number Two:

Wood Tray / Butter Dish / Stack of Dishes / Cheese Knife Set / Linen Napkins / Salt Cellar / Wood Pepper Mill / Wooden Beads / Flower Urn / Paper White Flowers

Did you see the last time I shared a few different ways to style something?  I love sharing things like this because it is is a great creative outlet for me.  I will be sharing more things like this so let me know if there is anything you would like for me to do next.

ALSO… I have another tray styling look that I am going to be doing specifically for the newsletter people.  So if you don’t receive our weekly emails and Sunday newsletters, you are going to want to sign up.  You will not only get that exclusive content, but THREE OF you will have a chance to win the wooden tray that I styled in LOOK NUMBER TWO.  The winners will be picked on Sunday, February 12 and announced in that Sunday’s newsletter.

  • Look #1 has my heart!! I love everything about this display! I love the texture of the first one, hands down. I love the little hearts so much too.

  • I like both! Love baskets! I was on the vid you did from Walmart! Bought that tray. I’m going to do one more like the one you did in it! Valentines influenced somewhat!

Hope you do more of those Walmart vids. You found great items. I’ve looked today and haven’t had the luck you had! I got the tray and butter dish (damaged). They are replacing the dish and told me to keep the damaged one. Ordered simple white sheers, changed my mind ordered something more expensive! They told me to just keep the cheaper panels (only 1 window and really cheap). So all is good. The bedspread is coming! Ordered a bathroom rug too!

  • They are both so yummy!!! Gotta go with number one😊 love me a pedestal ! Looking forward to seeing number 3👯‍♂️
