Every so often I like to share some repurposed items we have in our home. Who doesn’t like a good old makeover?
I’ve shared these several times on Facebook and Instagram both. You’ve even seen them in several pictures here on the blog, but I bet you didn’t even know what they once were. Unfortunately, I do not have a BEFORE picture of them, but you will get the point with my description.
I got them home and promptly tossed the 6′ tall lamp shade in the trash (well beside the trash can because …. 6′ ????????♀️), which left me with a shadeless lamp. If you have read my post on “How to Make a Night Light from a Lamp” you know that if you unscrew the top bulb area of a lamp, the entire thing comes apart. I removed all of the lamp fixings including the lamp wire and was left with just the bases.
There is nothing that a coat of white paint can’t fix in my book. I covered the bases in white paint that we had on hand leftover from another project and slapped a battery operated candle on the top with a candle ring. And there you have it…. Candlesticks from old lamp bases. I always have my eyes peeled for interesting looking lamp bases because they can be interesting looking candlesticks, or a nightlight like I mentioned earlier.
What do you think of my little lamp base makover? Let me know in the comments!
Thanks so much for stopping by my little site. I pledge my love to each and every one of you.
Buh bye now!!!

I’m going to say a big YES to wasted Wednesday’s! Love the candleholder...
hahaha thank you!
OMG this new series made my day. I have 2 column style lamps I bought in the 80s at home, one 5 ft tall, with fake concrete bases. Those will be transformed asap-thanks!
YES.....Keep me posted!
Thanks! I had noticed them in other photos and wondered 'from whence they came'. They had prompted me to write on my 'searching for' list "old rustic lamp bases (old porch posts. newel posts??)" Had no idea they actually were lamp bases!! Yep, going to be fun to see what you have for us on Wasted Wednesdays. :-)
hahaha thank you! I'm excited too.
